Agilgul mand , voedselmand uit Ethiopië

This agilgul basket is a kind of picnic basket,

which Ethiopian farmers and shepherds take with them

on their journeys in the bush. The basket was filled

with enjerra (a kind of pancake) that is the favourite food

with the Ethiopians. The basket is inside made of braided fibres and covered with leather on the outside. It can be closed with a leather cord.

This is a relatively small specimen, and oval in shape. They are also often larger and round in shape.

This example is old and used and approximately 75 years old.
